On Saturday we drove up to Anderson Ranch to go camping with my family. Josh got off late so we only had Saturday night and Sunday to play, but we were able to pack in lots of fun in that short time! This was our first camping trip of the summer (and Jadyn's 1st camping trip ever!)
Josh insisted that we camp out in our tent rather than sleeping in my parents RV - and well, I was a bit reluctant. Apparently I'm becoming a bit of a wimp in my old age (or then again, it could have been the ridiculously large ants that had inhabited the beach!) Well, despite the hard sleeping surface and strong bug-spray aroma, it was actually a lot of fun! The kids seemed to enjoy the idea of sleeping in the "house" that Daddy built. Josh even set up the portable DVD player for us to watch Shrek III before bed. (This of course was actually a better idea in theory since the light/sound kept Jadyn wide awake and she decided to use all of us as a jungle gym. Good times.)
As usual, Kaylee's favorite part was boating! She loves jumping from the boat deck into Daddy's arms and "swimming" back to the ladder. Grandpa Ken pulled her and Daddy around on the tube, which of course was very entertaining. I'm sure she'll be up on skis within the next couple years.. the kid has no fear! Jadyn likes the water too, but is not such a big fan of the life jacket.
We had a great time hanging out with family, making smores by the campfire, and eating good food. Here's some more pictures from out camping adventures!

I can totally sympathize with the kids and sleeping, although I didn't have to sleep in a tent. I would have made my hubby sleep in the tent and I would have headed straight for the RV...but that's just me! :)
Popsicles camping....how in the world did you get them to stay frozen????? did gramps have a freezer....he must have how fun!

We were thinking of going up there this weekend. How was the water and were there lots of boats? We are not ones for tons of boat traffic! Please tell me you had air mattresses to sleep on!
What? Everyone is camping except for me. And I am so jealous! I actually love tent camping, is that wierd?

Oh my....I am so jelous... =) I havent been camping in almost 3 years. I cant wait till we have time for that again....You take AMAZING pictures grl. Love reading your blogs and looking at all the fun pictures.
