Pumpkin Carving Pajama Party

I have come to dread Saturdays. One of the perks of having a husband who goes into work super, super early is that most days he is home by early afternoon. We're kinda spoiled that way.

Two years ago, he took over the Twin Falls route on Saturdays and while the money's good - he typically goes in at 4:30am and often isn't home until 8 or 9 at night. It's a long day for us without Daddy (especially since it seems like everything happens on Saturdays) and a really, really long day for him. The girls are always so excited to greet him at the door and you can see it in his face that those sweet little smiles make his hard day worth it.

Tonight it was 7:30pm - the kids and I had just finished "putting the house to bed" and were about to get them in their jammies when Daddy comes through the door smiling and yells "Who's ready to party??" - a Redbox and 3 giant pumpkins in his arms. Then spent the next three hours carving pumpkins, decorating sugar cookies, toasting pumpkin seeds, and watching a Halloween Scooby Doo movie with his little girls. All of this, before he even had a chance to take a shower or unwind from his hard, 15 hour day!

It's days like this that remind me... I married a good, good man.

Ty seemed to be content observing all the excitement...

But wasn't so sure about all the noise from Daddy's drill.

(The girls watching their "scary, scary movie" with pumpkin seeds instead of popcorn.)

What a fun, fun night!
