Kaylee's 5th Birthday

So this year I talked the girls into doing a joint friend birthday party in July. (The conversation went a little like this: Me: "Girls, would you rather each have your own small birthday parties or a big one together?" Them in unison: "A BIG ONE TOGETHER!!") Oh yeah, ten points for Mommy.

Kaylee's actual birthday was Saturday and since Josh was in Twin Falls until late, we planned a fun girls day together (plus Tyler of course.) The morning started with a request from the birthday girl for her favorite breakfast...homemade crepes topped in powdered sugar and a side of fresh strawberries. The girls downed five each! Then it was off to McDonalds for Happy Meals and a trip to the park. Shannon, Anna, and Ethan joined us for the fun!

After that, we had big plans to visit this cute little candy store that everyone has been raving about, but it was hot and Kaylee decided she wanted to stop for sno cones instead. How cute are these little flower cups?
Then it was back home to bake birthday cupcakes and homemade chocolate frosting.

Grandma Lauri dropped by to wish her a Happy Birthday, bearing balloons and puzzles. When Daddy came home, the girls made a few rounds on the Barbie jeep and Kaylee opened her presents.

The next day, we decided to have some family over to celebrate with our little birthday girl. One fabulous thing about having family live so close is you can decide to have a BBQ totally last minute and a few hours later be hosting a party for 16!

Our backyard is still tore up from the construction, so everyone hung out in the garage while Josh grilled up some burgers. The kids kept themselves busy in the front yard - riding bikes, shooting rockets, kicking balls, and fighting over the Power Wheels. :-) We finished the day with cupcakes, ice cream, and presents.

Thank you everyone for celebrating with us!
