30 + 1

Josh has been asking me for a couple weeks what I wanted to do for my birthday, and I kept telling him I just wanted to have a day to relax and put my feet up.  I should know myself better than that!  I only lasted through the breakfast he made us and about 30 minutes of catching up on Facebook and Pinterest before I got antsy to do something productive.  Working on our laundry renovation sounded like much more fun! :-) I worked on painting the room (don't worry, baby was well protected with gloves, respirator, fans, and lots of ventilation!) while Josh finished priming the cabinets.

We've still got a ways to go... but making progress!  We need to finish the cabinets, install the tile (of course I fell in love with one that had to be special ordered...), build shelves, refinish the knobs/hinges, and add hardware.  It's hard to tell from this picture (I took it at night and the lighting is awful) but just having a new color on the walls and freshly painted door trim/ceiling has made such a difference.  There will be lots of after pictures, I'm sure!

After we finished up painting, Josh and the kids took me to dinner at Carino's and out for ice cream (Josh always makes me a cake on my birthday but I kept him too busy to bake!), then we all cuddled up together and watched a movie at home.  It was simple and perfect. I love spending time with my sweet little family!  I've been trying to be better about taking in all the little moments (like when Jadyn had her cotton candy ice cream running down her chin and little Tyler grabbed a napkin and started trying to clean her up... we couldn't stop laughing!) and just enjoy this awesome life of mine.  And by the way, I've decided this whole 31 thing really isn't so bad after all... considering I'm about to be a Mommy of FOUR, I'm certainly glad I'm not 21 instead!  :-)

Round 2 of birthday fun with my extended fam next weekend!
