Happy 1st Birthday Jadyn Grace!
Whew. It has been a crazy week! On top of getting ready for Jadyn's big birthday bash today (and let's face it... I do have a tendency to go over the top...) we had my Moms Club Family BBQ on Friday and my brother Shawn's welcome home party on Saturday (he just got home from Afghanistan.) Oh, and we've been getting Kaylee ready for preschool co-op and ballet. Well in the midst of all the craziness it didn't really sink in that Jadyn is now officially 1 year old!
I think it's true what they say about time going even more quickly with the second one. I do my best to savor each moment, but it seriously seems like I blinked and all of a sudden she was this little person. (It doens't help that my babies don't really like to stay babies for very long!) This morning I set my alarm for 7:00 so I could get some things done before the girls got up, but when I woke up Jadyn was still snuggled into me (one of these days I'll actually get her out of my bed!) and I decided to lie there for another hour, just enjoying the moment. Although she is a very lovie baby, she is not much for snuggling, so I take full advantage whenever possible. Plus, there is something so peaceful about a baby sleeping... especially when she's as sweet as my little J!
FIRST YEAR STATS:
What she can do:
Walk, Run, Climb (a new favorite... and has discovered Grandma and Grandpa's stairs!)
Say: "mama." "dadda," "hi," "bye," something similar to "Kaylee," "thank you", "please" (sounds like peas) and "this", she also likes to say "huh?" whenever Kaylee calls for her. So cute.
Clap her hands.
Wave bye bye.
Dance to music.
Put toys in the toy box and shapes into holes.
Keep up with her big sissy.
What we love about her:
Her smile. Her whole face lights up!
How much she loves her big sissy. Her new favorite thing is to grab onto the back of Kaylee's shirt and try to keep up as sissy runs around the house.
The way she reaches out her little hand to people. This, of course, results in strangers constantly stopping to play with her. She relishes in the attention!
Her wobbly little walk.
Watching her clap her hands.
Her happy little personality. She is such a good baby!
Her beautiful little face, long eyelashes, and chubby legs.
When she lays her head on my chest and says "awww."
Her adorable little giggle.
Her favorite things:
Any of Kaylee's toys she can get her hands on -
(baby dolls, the toy car that she pushes around the house, Thomas the Train Engines, etc)
Watching Baby Einstein DVDs.
Food! (Only big girl food though... none of that baby stuff in the jar.)
Taking baths with Sissy.
Sleeping in Mommy and Daddy's bed.
Climbing. Anywhere. Everywhere.
Her binkie.
Getting into things she's not supposed to.
Holding Mommy's hand and walking around the house.
When Daddy gives her raspberries on her tummy.
Sitting on the counter while Mommy does her makeup. One handed.
Handing puzzle pieces to Sissy while she puts it together.
Getting thrown in the air by Daddy. Even if it scares her a little while she's in the air.
Just being with her family!
Happy Birthday sweet girl! We love you so much and are so thankful to have such a beautiful, sweet, curious, and happy little girl. We are so proud to be your parents!
PARTY PICTURES/BLOG COMING SOON!

No! She can't be one already! What a sweetie. She sounds like an active little girl that has no qualms demanding some attention for herself! Good for her. I think it is so sweet how she loves her sis so much. Kendal is the same way w/Amaya. Nobody gets a smile out of Kendal like Amaya does!
Happy Birthday pretty Jadyn. Can't wait to see pics of the party. I'll probably steal half (or all) of your ideas! :)
She is such an adorable girl, I just want to kiss and squeeze those cheeks and legs!! :)
Its always an awakening when they turn 1, almost doesn't seem possible, and then they just never stop growing! I want to freeze them somedays so they can just stop for once!
You are such a lucky mom and she is such a lucky girl! What a little cutie she is. :-)
I forgot to mention that those suckers were for Kaylee...I wasn't expecting you to hand your 1-year-old dum dums.
Happy Birthday Jadyn!!
Isn't that first birthday such a wake-up call?! Not in a bad way...just exactly what you said about it going so fast...it is absolutely true that the more you have the faster time goes! For some reason I still think of Bellamie (my third) as a 6 month old...only she thinks she is a big girl and doesn't really act like a 6 month old. Whew! anyway...your girls are beyond adorable!
Oh...I read in a later post that your husband lived in Florida for two years...was that part of his mission too? My husband went on a mission to Florida as well! Tallahassee...
i asked Mickale if I could join your fun playdates...I hope she says YES! I would love to see you and catch up in person!
