:-)

One little smiley face on my Facebook status and my page was a-flutter with comments hinting to whether or not we were expecting another member of the family.
Am I really that transparent??
Okay, maybe I am.

We are SO excited... and a little shocked. I had only been off the pill for 2 1/2 weeks when we conceived - so my "April/May baby" has turned into a March baby instead! With both girls I just "knew" right away that I was pregnant, but I was clueless with this one. It didn't help that 5 days before, I took a test and it came back negative. When my "day" still had not come, I decided to take one anyway (I remember thinking to myself - this is such a waste of a test... there's no way it has happened already!) So you can imagine my surprise when that second little line showed up. It was faint, but oh-so-there. I yelled "holy crap" loud enough for Josh and Kaylee to come running into the bathroom from across the house. His expression was a mixture of excitement and just a hint of "I hope we're ready for this!" (He did make me take 3 more tests over the next few days - including a "non-generic" digital one - just to make sure. )

I decided we needed a creative way to tell our parents. (I mean, at this point, me being pregnant is a little cliche, right?) We mailed them each a blank greeting card with this photo inside:

Josh's parents finally received theirs today, which means we have the green light to spread the news. We had actually talked about waiting to tell people until after the first trimester, but since little Kaylee knew... we had a feeling it wouldn't be long until the whole world found out anyway!

Speaking of Kaylee, I think she may be more excited than any of us. I can't count how many times she'd wake up in the mornings and say, "Mommy, guess what I prayed for last night?? A baby brother!!" When I asked why she didn't pray for a baby sister she said, "because I already have a little sister and I want to keep her!" Haha. I think we've finally convinced her that she would still get to keep Jadyn even if another little girl comes along, so hopefully she will be content either way. (At this point I think we're just going to assume it's another girl until they tell us otherwise!)

For you sweet souls who have been asking how I'm feeling - I'm happy to report that I feel GREAT! In fact, if it weren't for my insatiable craving for Mexican food and an annoying inability to keep my eyes open past 1am... I might seriously wonder if there was actually a baby in there.

I'm thinking this is because:

a) God realizes I already have TWO very energetic little ones to chase after and don't have time to be sick...

b) At this point, my body is so used to being pregnant that it doesn't really phase me anymore...

or

c) This just happens to be the calm before the storm. Better find some wood to knock on!

Well, whatever it is, I'm so thankful this little peanut (as my dr. always calls them) is being so nice to me... even if it is for a brief period of time!

Oh, and thank you everyone for all your sweet emails, facebook comments, and phone calls. We love you all!

I craved Mexican food like crazy when I was pregnant with my son but not with my girls. So maybe your #3 will be a boy! You never know!
