Our Little Star

A few minutes before our little preschoolers graced us on stage with their Christmas carols, the school director came out to give a little warning. "Don't be surprised if your son or daughter is overwhelmed up here. They are not used to performing in front of 200 people and may be scared or shy." She then gave instructions to come and get your child if they seemed afraid or started crying. Somehow, I had a feeling this wouldn't be an issue for our little Kaylee.

The kids entered the gym singing "Hear His Bells" and little Kaylee was ALL grins. She got up on stage and stood there with a wide smile and excited eyes, like everyone in the audience had come to see her. Each song had its own little movements, which of course, Kaylee did with a bit of overexaggerated enthusiasm. And if you watch the video you can clearly hear her voice coming through. Ahh, our little ham! Hmm - I think this was about the age that I would tell all my friends' parents that I was going to be a famous movie star someday. At least we know where she gets it! :-)

At the end of their performance, they were suprised by a special visitor - Santa himself - who joined them on stage. While the other kids were in awe, our little Kaylee decided it was prime time to get a few things off her mind. "Santa? Why do you come down the chimney instead of just coming through the door? And how do you get out of the fireplace without breaking the glass?" Later her teacher came up laughing and asked "How do you ever get anything past that little girl?" Haha. For now, we rely on one answer "Magic, honey. It's magic."

A few pictures of the night:

Oh how I adore this little girl!

Singing "Away In The Manager" - oh so tender!

(Jadyn is the more timid one of the two - but still a little ham! After the performance, she made her way up on to the stage so she could have her turn twirling and dancing to the music!)
