(Nope, not that one!)I'm still a little in disbelief... but construction has begun on the home addition!! Josh got started on Friday with moving Kaylee's window to the other wall and tore down the patio overhang last night. (Thankfully that cooperated - I had some serious visions of it coming crashing down through the glass doors... or on top of my husband!) This morning, the crew showed up with a tractor to dig up the backyard. We'll be doing most of the work ourselves but we decided to have the foundation done through my Dad's company... so glad we did after seeing how much work it was!! We should be able to start the framing soon... with lots of help from our very loving and talented family (who thankfully let us pay them in pizza and gratitude.) Have I mentioned how lucky I am to have a Project Manager for a Dad, electrician for a brother-in law, and a super handy husband?
The girls have been completed fascinated by all the work going on in their backyard. They weren't so sure they were too happy about what they saw at first though! When Jadyn saw the backhoe picking up the patio overhang and smashing it into pieces she started crying "Mommy, they're breaking my house!" Kaylee was just concerned about them tearing up the grass. "But where are we going to play if they take our grass away??" I must admit I'm going to miss having so much room back their for the kiddos, but I know we are going to love the extra space. And I'm sure if they get a new swing set out of the deal they'll forgive us. :-)
