One Week

Our sweet Baby Tyler is one week old today! Time is already passing too quickly. I think the fact that this is our last baby makes me want to soak up all the newborn snuggles even more... there is nothing quite like it!

Though most of Tyler's days are spent either sleeping or eating, he is such an alert little thing when he is awake. He is already starting to lift up his head and I swear I've caught a few smiles here and there. Oh, and there is no doubt that he is already a Mama's Boy! Which is wonderful, except for the fact that he seems to think I should never put him down. It makes a little tricky to get much done around here, but I must admit... I could be content to just kiss him and hold him all day long! (In fact, as I'm typing this, he is sleeping on my shoulder since every time I try to lay him down he wakes up and fusses until I pick him back up again.)

The girls are smitten by their little brother and can't seem to get enough of him. They are constantly asking "where is Baby Tyler?" if he is ever out of their sight. Kaylee is my big helper and very protective. She loves to give him hugs and kisses and gets excited every time she gets to hold him. And Jadyn adores him just as much! Of course, we have to watch her a little more... she hasn't quite grasped the fact that she can't play with him like a little doll. (Oh, and just a little side note - I was changing Tyler's diaper the other day and Jadyn saw his umbilical cord and said "Oh no Mommy, his belly button is broken!" So cute!)

I still can't seem to get over how tiny this little guy is. We took him in for a weight check today (he was all the way down to 6lbs 1oz when we took him in last Thursday... a whole 2 pounds less than what Kaylee was when she was born!) and he was back up to 6lbs 7oz. Luckily the boy likes to eat (I'm pretty sure he would eat all day long if I'd let him!) so I don't think we'll have any trouble fattening him up. You know how mama loves those chubby baby cheeks (though his are still irresistible just as they are!)

What a tiny tiny little man! Oh my, I DO NOT produce little babies so its always a shock to see someone else have them small. He is just perfect, and yes get those snuggles in while he can't move!!! :)
Glad to hear things are going so great! One of these days when life isn't so hectic, I need to come see him and hold that tiny little guy!
