This will most likely be my only year of having both my girls in dance. Kaylee loves being on stage, but she insists she doesn't really love going to class (I'm not so convinced... she's all smiles once we get there!) so she wants to try out gymnastics next year. I'm excited for her new adventures, but trying to soak up the sight of these two beauties in their dance costumes together... totally puts a little sunshine in my heart! The girls had their class photos tonight and I stayed a couple extra minutes to take some pictures of them in their dance room. As usual, the girls were much more interested in running around the floor and playing on the bars... go figure. :-)
Awww my sweet Jadyn. Getting ready to practice her dance with her class...

And here she is after the rest of the class left - "Hey Mommy, take my picture now!"

Little Kaylee having some fun with her friend Anna...

(This picture totally makes me reminisce about last year's pictures... is it just me or has she grown up soo much in the last year? Sigh.)
And of course, I had to get a picture of some sisterly love (which may or may not have been bribed by chocolate...)

Despite Jadyn scratching at her recital tights so much on the ride home that she created a 3 inch hole, it was a fairly successful day. After dinner, I made a quick run to the grocery store while Josh stayed home with the kids. I was gone for less than an hour. When I came home, I found a big pile of Jadyn's hair on my bathroom floor. Mama was not happy. Daddy thought it was funny. Jadyn cried, "But Mommy, I just wanted to make my hair pretty!" and then sobbed for 10 minutes straight. And then I forgave her. Is there anything this kid can't get away with? I mean, is this not the saddest face you've ever seen???

I'm still assessing the damage from this little haircutting adventure. Her hair was still in a side ponytail from pictures so she mostly cut what had fallen out, so it looks more like sidebangs than a huge chunk of hair missing. Which is a good thing since she cut it above her ears. And her hair grows really slow. A couple times tonight I would notice a really long strand of hair poking out of the bottom and I'd pull on it and see that she had cut it almost to the root! Luckily it seems like this was only in a couple places, and I'm hoping that I can hide it. As for styling her hair for the recital on Saturday?? Well, that should be interesting! Stay tuned...
