Big Changes on the Homefront!

When we bought our house 3 years ago, we knew there would be many changes (and projects) ahead. The house was only 5 years old, so not run-down or anything (though I'm not so sure the previous homeowners ever touched the baseboards...) But the sweet little old couple that we bought it from, well, had very different tastes than ours. Somehow the pinkish-cream colored house with fire-engine red door and brass hardware just wasn't cutting it. No offense to 1992.
For comparison sake, here is what our house looked like when we moved in.

One RV pad, spa patio, tons of interior changes, refinished fixtures, new hardware, and gallons upon gallons of exterior paint later, our little home was given quite the face lift.

But the biggest change has been our most recent endeavor - our long awaited waterfall. I have to admit I was a little nervous about this project. I still picture the day I came home last summer to find Josh tying our bushes to the back of his truck to pull them out and attempting to move the ridiculously big lava rock from the middle of our front yard. I wasn't exactly sad to see it all go, but wasn't really thrilled about the idea of dirt landscaping, either.

Luckily, Josh made good on his promise and built me a gorgeous waterfall (with the help of his adorable little shadow of course!) Kaylee was there every step of the way... and loving every minute of it! No doubt she is a Daddy's girl.

(Though bribing her with sugar and caffeine probably doesn't hurt.)

Well, anyway, we actually still have to finish landscaping, but I was so excited about the waterfall that I just had to share. So here's what our house looks like post-changes... quite the difference!

If you look close enough you'll see the pretty hanging flower baskets I found at Fred Meyer (and on sale... even better!) Let's just hope I can keep them alive!

And of course, a closeup of Josh's handiwork! Alright Honey, I promise to never doubt you on a home improvement project ever again. No, really.

I love the picture of Josh sharing his drink with Kaylee. No wonder our girls love their dads so much! The house looks amazing!! When are you gonna come redesign my yard?? ;-)

Holy cow, that is such a big change, and not easy by looks of it! Projects like that make me grouchy until they are all finished! :) That waterfall is awesome, good job Josh!
Nothing cuter than a daddy's little shadow helper! Love it!
Beautiful home, it looks way better than before!!!!

So isJosh available this weekend? I think our yard could use a little TLC! He did a great job! So how do I motivate Ash to at least do a little bit of weeding!
