The Last of the Birthday Madness (No really!)

So, do you think it's a bad sign that my toddler has started waking up every morning anticipating another birthday party? I had to laugh to myself a little as I started writing this... my 3rd post for Kaylee's birthday... after vowing to keep things simple this year. But, in all fairness, even though she ended up with three parties, it was still no where near the madness that occurred for her last two... just spread out a little. Note to self: next year, keep it simple AND all in one day! Oh well, truth be told... I love every minute of it! And besides, doesn't she make a CUTE birthday girl?? :-)

Well, today was Kaylee's party with family, which we had at my parents' house. Her cousin Chayse who is one month older than her hadn't had his party yet so I told my sister just to have him join in on Kaylee's. (She actually seems to enjoy this whole "sharing" birthdays thing - and everyone seems to mistake them for twins anyway!)

Since it was HOT today (103... yuck!) my sis brought over the slip n slide and my parents turned on the sprinklers for kids to run around in. Angelique was the only adult who was brave enough to join in. (What a fun mom, huh?)
Kaylee had been super patient about her cupcake cake. I had been working on it since yesterday and though she seemed to be very intrigued by what I was doing... could not understand why she had to WAIT to eat them.

So she was really excited when it was finally time to dig in!

Since I had so many cupcakes left over, (I made 4 dozen in all... thank goodness for my cupcake caddy!) I gave half to my sister to decorate for Chayse. Angelique convinced me to take a comparison shot of the kids' "cakes" to show them when they're older. I'm kinda known as the OCD one in the family and I think they all get a kick out of the fact that I am so obsessed with details.

But truth be told... Kaylee would have been just as happy with one that took me 5 minutes, as long as she got to eat it in the end! (Perhaps one of these days I'll learn?)

After the BBQ, cupcakes, and presents, the kids decided they wanted to end with a little karaoke. As you can tell, Kaylee doesn't mind being in the spotlight!

After we got home, Kaylee took some time to admire all her presents. I have a feeling she's going to keep us pretty busy pulling everything out of the packages and putting toys together.

And you thought I was kidding about needing a bigger house!

Holy cute birthday cake batman! Do you have a professional sprayer and everything? You and Lori need to go into business together. :-)

Well aren't you sweet :-) Nah, just a can spray for each color. I'm too cheap for the professional stuff. haha

The cupcakes look great! Three posts really isn't too much for a birthday. We tend to spread out the festivities too...there's too much for one day!

Great cake! I love the comparison picture. It gives me hope that I'm not the only person who is OCD about details, and uh, everything. She is so tan! (and beautiful).
