Mr. Gunny Bag

This month in Joy School, the girls have been learning about "Order and Goal Striving." A few days ago, Miss Jensa introduced them to "Gunny Bag" (really just a white pillowcase) whom lives in some out of the way place like a closet or attic and comes out to eat toys that are not in their proper place. Then he returns to his cave. He comes back later and coughs up the toys and if they get put right away, they are safe.
If he ever eats the same toy twice, he never coughs it up. When he can’t find anything to eat, he cries and cries.
~~
Kaylee told me all about Gunny Bag when she got home but was not too concerned because "Miss Jensa locks her door so he can't get out and he doesn't know how to fly." Seeing the benefits of such an entity, I explained that we have a Gunny Bag at our house too. A look of sheer terror swept across her face and she ran into her room as fast as she could. "Hurry, hurry Mommy... Gunny Bag is coming we have to clean up!" 10 minutes later her room was spotless. And she has been picking up her toys (not to mention following the rest of us around to make sure nothing is out of place) ever since!

Hmm... too bad Mr. Gunny Bag doesn't work on husbands who like to leave their clothes all over the bathroom floor!

That is so cute and such a good idea!

Love her room, so girly and perfect.

Oh, Gunny can visit husbands too. I think it's in the Joy School rules somewhere.

Josh just won't know it until all his clothes are missing. :-)

I love her room, I think it's perfect for a little princess such as Kaylee. I think I might have to use that one on my girls!

I love that idea! Isn't it great that they truly believe everything we tell them? :)
