I was reading my friend Katie's blog the other day and saw her post on "Tackle It Thursday" - basically she picks one project a week and spends that day getting it done. I decided this was a fabulous idea (seems like there are always 100 projects lying around that I never seem to get to) so I'm going to start my own "Project Friday." Posting the projects is really more for my sake... I figure if I put it in writing I might be more likely to follow through!
THIS WEEK'S PROJECT:
~Finishing The Girls' Halloweens Costumes~
Is it only crazy to me that Halloween is a little over 2 weeks away? This year Kaylee insisted on being Strawberry Shortcake. But not the cute old-school Strawberry from our day with the adorable red dress and white apron. Oh no, she wanted the NEW Strawberry Shortcake (seriously - why do manufacturers always gotta mess with a good thing??) She decided that Jadyn should be Strawberry's little sister, Apple Dumplin'.
The costumes are actually really simple - the biggest challenge has been gathering up the supplies (seriously - who knew it would be so hard to find green/white striped tights, a strawberry stamp and apple/strawberry appliques?) The best part - I love the fact that Kaylee is now at an age where she can help me make them. She has been at my side from Day 1, gluing on red pom poms, gathering up the cut up tulle, and helping me stir Sissy's shirt in the yellow dye. She loves being Mommy's helper!
This is what my table looked like this morning... next Friday I'll post the after pics! I'm already about halfway done - though it doesn't really look like it! :-)
