You're TWO!

Dear Tyler,

My sweet baby boy.  You know, I had high hopes of keeping you my little baby forever, but you are seeming more and more like a big boy every day. And it's even more evident now with a newborn in the house!  I remember picking you up for the first time after we came home from the hospital... it seemed like you grew a foot and doubled your weight overnight! :-)

You have the sweetest disposition and are the happiest toddler I know.  You are constantly smiling and giggling and stomping your feet in excitement.  I don't think there's anything more wonderful as a parent than seeing your little boy with so much joy in his heart!

When it comes to toys, you love anything that has wheels, but you're especially fond of cars.  We have a basket of them on the bookshelf in the family room and it's the first thing you pull down when you get up in the morning.  You love to carry one in each hand and drive them across the chairs, past the couches, and over the tracks on the train table.  The world is your asphalt!  :-) You love bath time but don't really seem to be a fan of swimming or running through sprinklers yet. I guess you only like warm water like Mommy! :-)  You are an awesome sleeper.   We put you down for the night without a fuss and you wake up with a grin on your face every morning.  Oh, and nap time is a must!

You adore both of your big sisters (who you call KK and Jaydee), but you have a special place in your heart for Kaylee.  You love to go with her to the bus stop and are always sad when she leaves.  When she's home, you're constantly grabbing her hand and saying "com' on!" and pulling her into her room to play.  Jadyn is your little buddy during the day.  You especially love when we have Joy School at our house and you get to hang out with her and her school friends.  You always want to be a part of the action, just like the big kids!

You are starting to talk more every day.  It has taken you a while, but you are speaking more in sentences now and repeating what you hear.  You're still very shy and will often whisper in my ear so other people don't hear.  It doesn't usually take you long to warm up though.  And you love interacting with other kids!  You are great at sharing toys and are so loving and kind that everyone seems to love being around you.

You're not sad often, but you make the cutest little frown when you are (it literally stretches across your whole face!)  You've also been known to throw a few good tantrums here and there.  For some reason, you seem to like to run away and hide when you cry (your newest hideout is the little space next to the laundry basket shelves.)  It's hard to not give in and give you whatever you want because you're adorable even when you're mad!
You are still very much a Mama's Boy.  I love when you lay your head on my leg and snuggle into me on the couch.  And my kisses still fix any owie, which is the best super-power of them all!  Daddy is your best buddy.  You get this big grin every time he walks through the door and spend the rest of the night following him wherever he goes.  (Plus he lets you play in the dirt... just like little boys should!)

There is so, so much we love about you Tyler.  You are definitely the sunshine of our lives and even though I'd love to keep you little, I'm excited to watch you learn and grow!

Happy Birthday little buddy.
Love, Mommy
